Seth Rogen did a good job playing a more serious character than he's probably used to, and Anna Faris plays a great full blown whore-ish bitch. Ray Liotta, Collette Wolfe, and the rest of the supporting cast were also very adequate (except the overrated and one-dimensial Danny McBride). Writer and director Jody Hill, in only his second film, makes a movie that breaks the mold that typically follows a raunchy comedy
I think that this would've been a better drama, rather than a dark comedy because it's a sad story and Rogen seemed capable of playing a dead serious, bi-polar/emotional unstable individual who takes out his frustrations on the people around him. The comedy aspect of the film was still good for the most part, and the surreal fight scenes (especially the one at the end) were great.
There were some loose story ends (mostly B-story stuff) that didn't effect the overall movie, but left me wanting a little bit more. Still, this is the type of movie that will probably gain cult status in a few years because it's far from a conventional comedy. I will definitely buy this when it's out on DVD.
