Unorganized thoughts and ramblings- Reds, Blues, Love You's, and Fuck You's

- I want to thank whoever created the bread bowl. He/she has done a wonderful thing for society as a whole, and even more importantly, created another excuse for bread lovers to eat more bread at a meal. The great part is that when you're done with your soup or pasta, you can literally eat the bowl. Truly genius.

- I'm tired of every athlete and sports star pointing to God or heaven or whoever the fuck it is after they get a base hit or complete a seven yard pass on 2nd and 12. Do they think God has something to do with it? Are they so special that they actually believe there was divine intervention in their accomplishment? That sounds pretty selfish to me; I mean to think God is putting you ahead of everyone else is just stupid. For one, I don't think I actually believe in God. For another, even if I did, I wouldn't be that fucking stupid to believe that I'm extra special. Like God gives a shit who wins the inter-league match up between the Royals and Nationals.

The most annoying of these sports starts is MLB closer Francisco Rodriguez of the New York Mets. He always points to the sky when he saves a game, presumably to thank the Lord for giving him the strength to pitch a whole inning of baseball! Was it God who gave him the strength to leave the Los Angeles Angels this year and sign a three-year, $37 million deal with New York? He probably thanks his agent for that one.

Thanks Jesus!

- The NHL is a horribly run league. Yes, I love hockey, but if you look what's happened in the past five years you'll notice that Gary Bettman and the rest of his crew are fucking terrible at what they do. When your championship series is on the TV channel Versus, you've become irrelevent. It's too bad too, because there's been some great hockey since the lockout.

- People who brag about not reading and put it down just show how far they'll probably get in life. The answer, believe or not, is not very far (most likely anyway).

- Please stop talking about the Swine Flue. It's just another media driven scare story.

- Ann Coulter is still a complete bitch. So is Lou Dobbs. And Sean Hannity. And Bill O'Reilly. You get the point.

- We need a new constitutional convention. The one we have currently is horribly outdated.

- The "Happy Youngster" is a douchebag. Not only because he essentially held this guy's first career home run ball for ransom, but also because he's the type of guy who wouldn't give his ball to his girlfriend or a five-year old kid. He'd keep it and start a collection. Douche.

- Voting for Barack Obama doesn't make you liberal. Do I have to explain?

- I still want to try "The Counter", a burger chain with a restaurant in Walnut Creek.

- I don't understand why people use twitter to text with individual people or express deep emotional and personal problems that would better be answered by a trained therapist. Same goes for Myspace and Facebook.

- The new Star Trek film was awesome because it didn't just satisfy Trekkies like myself, but it also appealed to people who just wanted to see a good summer action movie with an interesting story and fun characters.

- X-Men Origins: Wolverine is an example of a popular summer film with very little substance. Yes, it was a decent action movie, but the story was weak and the characters were horribly one-dimensional. I know I'll probably get some flak for saying all this, but I mean seriously, I don't think 1% of the people who saw both Star Trek and Wolverine thought Wolverine was the better movie. If they did I almost feel sorry for them. Oh well.

- I'm looking forward to the new Terminator film coming out in a couple weeks. If I had to take a guess I'd say it'll be better than X-Men but it'll fall short of Star Trek as far as quality. I do think however, that it'll be a good action movie and something that appeals to Terminator fans and non-fans alike. It's great to see that the movie takes place in the future (2018), as I want to see a lot of battles between the machines and the human resistance on what's left of Earth.

- The Sims 3 comes out next month and I'm really excited. I loved the first two games a lot, and there seems to be a lot of cool new features and improvements that will keep people living pretend lives (without the weirdness of Second Life; seriously that games is fucked up).

- Lots of good books to read this summer. More on that later, hopefully.

- I'm officially done with school for the semester. I have a few things I'm looking forward to this summer (concerts, possible road trips, etc.), and I think it'll be better then last year. Just like NBA free agency, however, it's all about the Summer of 2010 (hopefully).
